Which non-profits does BOMA work with?
BOMA is strongly motivated to make a positive impact-not only through our products and services, but also through active engagement. That's why BOMA partners with several impactful non-profit organisations, including GoForest, River Cleanup, and Made Blue.
Go Forest: the BOMA forest is growing
Did you know that trees are true climate champions and crucial for biodiversity? And that the countries bearing the brunt of climate change are mainly in the global South?
For those exact reasons, BOMA proudly supports GO Forest. This non-profit organisation is committed to reforestation around the world. By planting trees, they restore ecosystems, raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable development.
In Madagascar, BOMA is contributing to the planting of 10,000 mangroves every year. These protect the coast, restore biodiversity and create jobs for local people. By doing so, we're making the world a more beautiful place together, for people as well as nature.
River Cleanup: tidying up the riverbanks
Did you know that 8 billion kilograms of litter ends up in our oceans every year, and that up to 80% of that figure comes from our rivers?
That's why BOMA and River Cleanup have joined forces to protect our rivers from pollution. With a shared passion for a cleaner environment and expert knowledge in the field, we strive to preserve rivers and reduce plastic pollution.
Raising litter-prevention awareness is the key to all of River Cleanup's actions. The initiative organises clean-up campaigns, for instance, in which companies and individuals can help clean up rivers. Every year since 2020, countless BOMA employees have been dedicating their efforts to the River Scheldt, picking up many kilos of plastic and other types of waste.
Made Blue: every drop counts
Did you know that more than two billion people do not have consistent access to clean and safe drinking water? And that most of these people live in the Global South?
That's why BOMA supports Made Blue, a non-profit organisation that provides water supplies in developing countries. For every litre of water used by an I-mop, the organisation invests in wells, among other things, to offset that litre as clean drinking water.
Made Blue installs water pumps and teaches locals how to maintain them, so that the water supply remains available over the long term. Thanks to the efforts of BOMA and our customers, we've already been able to provide more than 25 million litres of clean drinking water to people who really need it, and that figure continues to rise every year.
